THE SUMMER IS HUMMING IN THE CARIBBEAN
Fort Lauderdale, FL. – Hyatt has just opened its newest resort in the Caribbean, the Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen, on La Quinta Avenue in Playa del Carmen near Cancun, Mexico. The resort has 314 rooms, including 36 suites, three restaurants and bars, and a "Cenote Spa". There are also 3 infinity pools and a kids’ pool, along with a lap pool.
In its constant search for destinations that are little "different", the Caribbean Journal has selected the following as being the Caribbean's hippest Islands, which means they are under the radar for a variety of reasons, most of which make them very desirable places to visit:

Fodor's just named 10 Amazing Places to Visit This Summer. Included are two Caribbean wedding destinations: Barbados for its heavenly beaches, local cuisine and challenging golf courses, and Guadalupe Valley, north of Ensenada, Mexico which is called "the next Napa Valley" and every August hosts the Harvest Festival for wine lovers.
The Active Times named 10 Spectacular Rainforests Around the World and two are in the Caribbean, the El Yunque Rainforest in Puerto Rico and the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary in Belize.
WestJet announced that it has increased the frequency of its flights between Toronto and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic from twice a week to four times a week. The carrier also expanded service between Toronto and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with one additional weekly flight.
Norwegian has announced that it will begin flights to Martinique and Guadeloupe from Boston, Baltimore/Washington and New York in early December. The schedule will include three flights per week between John F. Kennedy International Airport and Guadeloupe's Point-a-Pitre International Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, together with three flights between JFK and Martinique's Aime Cesaire International Airport on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The AlSol Tiara Collection Cap Cana is now open in the Cap Cana Marina area of the Dominican Republic. The 112-suite resort features a moat of swim-out pools and 360-degree ocean and marina views. It also includes the only BABOR Signature Spa in the world as well as its Blue Lotus Bar and restaurant. Other restaurants on the property include Xoxolati, a Mexican-themed venue, and Caribya Beach Grill, a small-bites outdoor restaurant.
In December, Delta will begin service between Atlanta and Eleuthera and between Atlanta and Marsh Harbour, Abaco, in the Bahamas. It will also be increasing service to Georgetown in the Exumas to daily service.
United Airlines announced that it will offer non-stop flights from Chicago to Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos Islands from December 19, 2015 through April 30, 2016.
