Fort Lauderdale, FL — During the winter tourist season, Frontier Airlines will have nonstop service from Denver to Montego Bay, Jamaica once every Sunday. The Airline says this will be the only nonstop flights from Denver to the Caribbean during the winter season. Speaking of Jamaica, that country just announced that it has received its 2 millionth visitor to the country for the first time in its history. It has come close several times, but this time it went over the top.

Melia announced that it has officially taken over the former Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort, which will become part of the Baha Mar complex when that project opens at the end of the year. Tropic Ocean Airways will begin scheduled seaplane service from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to Hope Town, Great Abaco, of the Bahamas Out Islands, on February 14. The one-hour flights will be twice weekly and will depart from the Sheltair terminal at the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood airport. Later, on March 14, the airline will begin twice-weekly seaplane service from the Galaxy Aviation terminal at Palm Beach's airport to Hope Town. British Airways said that, for the first time, it will offer non-stop flights to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, with twice-weekly service.
