Bahamas Prime Minister Perry Christie announced that the new five-star luxury resort being constructed on Bimini will be completed by the end of the year. The 343-room resort is part of the Resorts World Bimini project that includes the SuperFast ferry, Bimini Bay Resort, and Resorts World Casino.
TripAdvisor announced that its recent survey about family travel reveals that 92 percent of those surveyed plan to travel with their family this year. This result is up from 85 percent who travelled last year. Grand Cayman Island is about to have a new dive attraction. A thirteen foot bronze sculpture of a mythological creature combining traits of a warrior and a seahorse will be attached to a pedestal and sunk in sixty feet of water, just off Grand Cayman's northwest coast. The sculpture is the work of Canadian artist Simon Morris and is intended to focus attention on ocean conservation.
In Tobago, the House of Assembly announced an increase in the winter flight schedule of British Airways. As of October 26, two more British Airways flights will come to Tobago via Antigua, thereby increasing capacity on the route 100 percent.
