Nightlife In St. Lucia

The hotels offer various choices from steel bands, jazz groups, folk dancing, crab racing, fire-eating performers and limbo dancers. The hotels welcome guests from outside. The restaurants also have live music.

May brings the annual jazz festival and with it comes late night parties and tons of nighttime concerts under the stars. Famous names in the jazz world are sure to make an appearance and hang out for a few days to enjoy the island’s festivities.

At Rodney Bay, The Lime and The A Pub are popular hangouts. The Indies Night Club, located next to the Bay Gardens Hotel and Julian’s Supermarket, and Le Chalet, near the Rodney Bay Marina are usually the hot spots. Back Door Indies is also good for a mix of Caribbean and international music. Ask about the daily drink specials – it’s definitely worth it.

Annex in Vieux Fort has live bands regularly, and JJ’s in Marigot is a casual atmosphere with a nice mixture of locals and visitors. Having said all that, the highlight of the week by far is Friday night’s ‘Jump-up’ at Gros Islet. The music promises to move your feet, two left ones and all.

For a more cultural night, evening tours visit the 150-year-old sugar mill. Afterwards, be entertained by a full-costume play. Also, there are shows at the National Cultural Centre, the Light House Theatre and the Great House Theatre.

Happy Day Bar has 2 for 1 happy hour specials, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on all drinks which will give party goers a nightly stop for fun.

The Wharf has weekly ladies’ night every Thursday from 9 pm with Soul Salsa music.

Sing to your heart’s content every Sunday at the Bois Coco Restaurant and Bar’s Karaoke night.
